Carterton Willow Meadows 2007
Sponsored Granny Trek for Helen and Douglas House
9th May 2010
8 U3A members assembled by Carterton Town Hall for the start of the Sponsored Granny Trek in aid of Helen and Douglas House Hospice.
We walked approximately 500 metres together and then split into two groups.
3 members continued over Willow Meadow to complete a 1½ mile Trek and
6 members walked 5 miles up over Ken’s Farm to Shilton, then past the football club, down Kilkenny Lane, across the top of the Country Park, down the hedge pathway on Shilton Park and on through the RAF quarters back to the Town Centre.
The weather was dry but cool but we had plenty of laughs and banter to keep us warm.
Together we raised a total £300, so thank you to “The Trekkers” and to those members who sponsored us.
